Vitra's history begins in 1953 when Willi Fehlbaum, the founder of Vitra, on a trip to the U.S., discovered chairs discovered chairs designed by Charles and Ray Eames and decided to become a furniture manufacturer. Not long after, he met the designer duo in person and a lasting friendship developed that has shaped their company ever since. Over the past few decades, they have worked closely with some of the world's leading designers and their descendants. These collaborations have led to the production of many classic: furniture from another era that today remains as current and vital as ever, and continue to touch and inspire us.

Vitra always maintains a close relationship with its designers, whom they authors. The result of this unique collaboration is always original. Together with Vitra, our designers devote all their time, expertise and craftsmanship in the development and introduction of new products.

George Nelson is one of the most influential American designers.
In 1945 he started working at Herman Miller and eventually stayed there
'director of design' for 25 years. From that role, Nelson is unmistakable
the founder of the Herman Miller collection, packed with designs

We would like to compliment Hella Jongerous here, the Polder Sofa for Vitra is by far the most 'used' bank that we receive. You can almost without exception see it throughout the family grateful use has been made of it.
