Hella Jongerius – Polder Sofa (Version 1) Upholstered in a Current Fabric Mix
The Vitra Polder Sofa is composed of individual panels, each featuring its own upholstery fabric and colour. This composition — referred to by Vitra as a fabric mix — is an essential part of Hella Jongerius’ design and is directly connected to the sofa’s distinctive patchwork-like layout.
Although the first version of the Polder Sofa was originally introduced with specific fabric mixes, Vitra periodically introduces new combinations as part of the ongoing evolution of the design. Antarctic Blues is one of these contemporary Vitra fabric mixes, originally developed for the second version of the Polder Sofa.
In this example, we have applied this current fabric mix to a first-generation Polder Sofa. While the original dimensions and panel layout of the first version have been carefully preserved, the colours and materials have been updated in line with the latest selections by Vitra and Hella Jongerius.
