Ludwig Mies van der Rohe
In 1929, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe designed the German pavilion during the World Exhibition in Barcelona, which was also the moment when the Barcelona chair was presented for the first time. In 1953, van der Rohe sold the rights to Knoll, which still produces this classic today.
